Vibratory Screeners Kason Vibroscreen® circular vibratory screeners separate bulk solid materials from solids and slurries using multi-plane, inertial vibration that causes particles to pass through apertures in the screen or to travel across the screen surface in controlled pathways. The screeners range in diameter from 18" to 100" (460mm to 2540mm) and are offered with single or multiple screening decks, separating particles in one to five predetermined sizes ranging from 2" (50mm) to 400 mesh (37 microns).
A wide range of models and specialized options satisfy a broad range of sifting, scalping, classifying, de-dusting and dewatering applications from the most simple to the most challenging, in capacities ranging from several pounds/kilograms to more than 30 metric tons per hour.
All Kason circular vibratory screeners are offered in gravity-fed and in-line pneumatic models for batch or continuous operation, and are available to industrial, food, dairy and pharmaceutical standards.
| Two Configurations
The screeners are offered in two configurations, distinguished by the number and location of imbalanced-weight gyratory motors employed to impart vibration:
One imbalanced-weight gyratory motor mounted directly beneath the screening chamber (Standard Vibroscreen models)
Stationary and mobile units are available in diameters from 18" to 100" (460mm to 2540mm) with single or multiple screening decks, yielding up to five precise particle classifications. The single gyratory motor of Standard Vibroscreen models is available with “E-Z Slide imbalanced weights, allowing rapid, tool-free adjustment of multi-plane, inertial vibration for maximum screening efficiency. One or two imbalanced-weight gyratory motors mounted externally on opposites sides of the screening chamber (Flo-Thru Vibroscreen models)
This Kason innovation minimizes height requirements, and enables the bottom outlet to be positioned directly below the top inlet, allowing material to fall vertically through the screen at high rates. The external location of gyratory motors also makes Flo-Thru models suitable for high temperature applications. Stationary and mobile units are available in diameters from 18" to 84" (460mm to 2135mm).
Complete Circular Vibratory Fluid Bed Systems Skid Mounted Ready To Process Greater performance in less space at lower cost than ever before possible.
Kason fluid bed dryers, coolers, and moisturizers employ an innovative circular processing unit which is inherently stronger, lighter, and less costly to build and finish to sanitary standards than rectangular units having equivalent surface area.
Because the circular fluid bed processor is also more compact, complete fluid bed systems can be pre-engineered and pre-configured on caster-mounted frames, ready for installation and start up. Moreover, Kason circular fluid bed processors maintain an unprecedented level of operating efficiency across a wide range of model sizes from 18 to 84 inches(460-2540mm) in diameter for laboratory and pilot plant testing as well as batch or high-volume in-line drying, cooling, or moisturizing of bulk foods, pharmaceuticals, and chemicals.
Pellet Powder Coater Coats sticky pellets with powder
The Kason Powder Coater utilizes the vibratory energy of a Kason screener to coat sticky pellets with non-reactive powder for storage and shipping. Pellets are fed into the center of a coating chamber which is continually filled with powder, and become coated as they roll outward to the edge of the chamber. As pellets land on the screen, excess powder falls through the screen and collects for recycling. Coated pellets exiting through the discharge spout remain discrete during shipping.
| Centrifugal Screeners

Sift, Scalp, De-lump and De-water Virtually Any Bulk Solid or Slurry The Kason Centri-Sifter® is a versatile, high capacity, compact and economical centrifugal sifter used for screening a wide variety of powders or granular materials, including chemicals, plastics and resins, foods, dairy products, pharmaceuticals and biologicals. This equipment is the ideal choice for continuous scalping of dry or moist materials, even those that tend to ball or agglomerate as these units delump and deagglomerate while screening. The Centri-Sifter Screener is also extremely effective as a liquid/solids separator.
Principal of Operation Material is fed into the feed inlet and redirected into the cylindrical sifting chamber by means of a feed screw. Rotating, helical paddles within the chamber continuously propel the material against the screen, while the resultant, centrifugal force on the particles accelerates them through the apertures. These rotating paddles, which never make contact with the screen, also serve to breakup soft agglomerates. Over-sized particles and trash are ejected via the oversize discharge spout. Features Dust-free, sanitary operation. Approved for use by USDA, FDA, BISSC, 3-A and other U.S. and European regulators Quiet, vibration-free action Quick screen change: 2 minutes or less Easy clean-out Double seal outboard bearings Rapid sieving action Heavy duty construction for continuous operation Compact design Low power requirements Integral cleaning/ inspection door Many sizes and single or twin models, including belt-driven units with motors ranging from 1hp (.75 kW) to 5hp (3.75 kW) and direct-driven units with motors ranging from1 hp (.75 kW) to 3 hp (2.25 kW)
Broad model range solves specialized problems Centri-Sifter centrifugal sifters are designed for gravity-fed applications, and for sifting in-line with pneumatic conveying systems. They are available as single and twin models and low profile units, and offered in a broad range of standard, modified, and custom configurations. All are available with belt drive or direct drive. Units may be free-standing or adapted for easy mounting on new or existing process equipment. On gravity-fed models, a large access door allows inspection and cleaning. In-line pneumatic units offer large ports for inspection. Removable end housings allow rapid cleaning and screen changes. Centri-Sifter separators meet the most stringent worldwide sanitary standards including USDA, FDA, 3-A, and BISSC. Special finishes and materials also make these sifters suitable for biochemical and pharmaceutical applications.
Screen options The choice of separating media includes nylon and other monofilament cloth, woven wire in selected metals, perforated plate screen, and wedge wire. Wedge wire screens are preferred when sifting large, dense particles with angular shapes, oversize lumps or when it is important that contaminating debris must be prevented from entering processing streams. Kason's wedge wire screens are rugged, durable and provide a high degree of on-stream reliability.
Anti-blinding devices speed production, reduce maintenance Kason offers a variety of devices that increase production by combating screen blinding. These devices reduce the clearance between the rotating paddle and the cylindrical screen without contacting or abrading the screen. Narrowing the gap between the rotating element and the screen surface enhances screening rates under near size conditions, thereby increasing throughput. Cross-Flo Static Scalping Sieve Scalps coarse, free-flowing dry solids at ultra high rates
The CROSS-FLO static sieve continuously removes oversize particles from coarse, free-flowing, dry bulk solids at rates to 100 tons (91 metric tons) per hour. The fixed-slope, heavy-duty, permanent bar screen is offered with apertures from .25" to 3" (6mm to 76mm). Because the sieve requires no electrical drive or screen changes, initial cost and operational cost are low. Standard units are available in widths from 2' to 6' (610mm to 1830mm) in 1' (305mm) increments, with larger sizes available on a custom basis. |
