WEDGE MAGNETS FOR ECONOMICAL PROTECTION OF PELLET MILLS AND OTHER GRAVITY-FLOW SYSTEMS
Bunting Wedge Magnets provide economical
protection against tramp metal damage for pellet mills and other equipment used to process particulate or semi-solid materials under gravity flow. Wedge Magnets are ideal for installation in narrow, vertical, or steeply inclined chutes that are easily accessible and can be opened for inspection and manual cleaning. The wedge shape resists bridging and diverts the product flow across the front and back collection surfaces, where Ceramic magnets located behind the outer stainless steel skin capture and hold ferrous contaminants.
■ Designed for installation in narrow chutes
where materials are under gravity flow.
■ Stainless steel skin resists wear and corrosion.
■ Minimum mounting space required.
■ Wedge shape helps prevent product build-up
and bridging.
■ Mount multiple units in large chutes.
GRINDER FEED CONVEYORS FOR PROTECTION FROM ALL METALS

Grinder Feed Conveyors let you catch both
ferrous and nonferrous metal contaminants in conveyed material before they damage your grinder or shredder. This dual-function unit combines an option-rich Bunting Conveyor with an advanced tunnel-style or under-belt plate-style metal detector that senses all conductive metals and features self-diagnostics for easy adjustment and reliable operation.
■ Protect against all conductive metals.
■ Set sensitivity with LCD interface.
■ Select conveyor size and features.
■ Separate tramp from
plastics, rubber,and recycled materials.
■ Available in standard or heavy-duty design.
IN-LINE MAGNETS FOR GRAVITY OR PNEUMATIC SYSTEMS

Bunting Gravity and Pneumatic In-Line
Magnets feature full-flow architecture that
leaves the product stream unobstructed.
Tapered transitions guide material directly over
the face of the hinged plate magnet, which
swings away from the housing for quick
external cleaning.
CENTER-FLOW MAGNETS FOR DILUTE-PHASE PNEUMATIC SYSTEMS

Center-Flow In-Line Magnet Separators are
engineered to remove ferrous fines as well as
larger pieces of tramp iron from dry particulates
as they travel through dilute-phase
pneumatic or gravity-flow conveying lines.
To achieve optimum contact with the product
flow, a bullet-shaped magnet is suspended in
the centerline of the housing. This tapered,
exposed-pole cartridge has a stainless steel
“nose cone” to direct the flow of materials
around the magnet. The magnetʼs tapered poles allow ferrous fines to collect out of the direct air stream, and the trailing end of the magnet is an active pole so that any tramp metal that might be swept down the cartridge will collect there.
■ Installs easily in any position with factory
supplied compression couplings.
■ Placement in vertical run makes optimum
use of magnetic field.
■ Durable stainless steel nose cone directs
material around bullet-shaped magnet.
■ Tapered pole design lets metal fines collect out of the air stream.
■ Unclamp the cover and swing the magnet
out for cleaning.
■ Available with Ceramic or Rare Earth magnets.
■ Self-cleaning models save time and labor.
SUSPENDED PLATE MAGNETS FOR INSTALLATION ABOVE CONVEYORS

Bunting Suspended Plate Magnets are placed above open conveyors to snap up ferrous objects and fines found in grains, feedstuffs, raw and processed food products, dry chemicals, and other particulates. In recycling applications, they can be used to capture tramp iron from recycled material before and after it goes through a grinder or shredder. They come in sizes matched to common belt widths and are outfitted with eyebolts to aid in handling and overhead suspension. Our heavy-duty 950 Suspended Plate Magnets come standard with high-density Ceramic magnets that provide an impressive halfpound pull at 9 inches and capture ferrous contaminants at belt speeds up to 300 fpm.
■ Pull ferrous tramp from flat-belt and trough
style conveyors.
■ Powerful Ceramic magnet reaches deep into
conveyed material.
■ Sturdy free-standing bolt-together support
frame offers one convenient mounting option.
■ Optional stripper plate slides out for fast, easy, out-of-the-way cleaning.
CROSS-BELT SEPARATORS FOR CONTINUOUS OVER-CONVEYOR SEPARATION AND SELF-CLEANING OPERATION
Cross-Belt Separators provide continuous
removal of ferrous contaminants from material
on open conveyors. Tramp iron falls from the
unitʼs cleated belt as it moves the captured
metal debris beyond the magnetʼs face and out
of the magnetic field.

Bunting 950 Series Magnetic Cross-Belt
Separators are made for heavy-duty
applications like recycling municipal trash,
construction debris, tires, or heavy plastic
materials. These units provide deep 10"
reachout and will magnetically remove ferrous
material from burden depths of 4 to 8 inches at
belt speeds up to 300 fpm.
650 Series Magnetic Cross-Belt Separators
have an effective magnetic reachout of 6 1/2"
and are designed for burden depths of 2" to 4"
on flat or slightly troughed belts.
450 Series Magnetic Cross-Belt Separators
have 4 1/2" reachout and are used for burden
depths of 1" to 2" on flat belts. This model can
be upgraded to Rare Earth magnets for close,
high-intensity magnetic field separation.
■ High-density Ceramic magnet provides excellent reachout.
■ Pulls tramp metal from trough style or flat-belt conveyors.
■ Removes fines as well as larger
ferrous scrap.
■ Cleated belt moves captured tramp to drop-off point.
■ Top-mounted motor runs at constant speed.
■ Continuous cleaning maintains peak separation efficiency.
■ Ideal for general conveying and recycling applications.
DRUM MAGNETS FOR HIGH FLOW RATES AND HEAVY METAL CONTAMINATION

Magnetic Drums and Drum Separators
are self-cleaning and provide continuous removal of ferrous contaminants from a wide range of free-flowing bulk and granular materials in high-volume applications. When material flows onto
the drum, a stationary magnetic assembly inside the unitʼs shell captures tramp metal and holds it securely to the drumʼs stainless steel
surface. With contaminants removed, the good product falls freely to a discharge point. As the drum rotates, cleats sweep the ferrous debris through and out of the magnetic field. The tramp metal is discharged separately, creating continuous self-cleaning separation.
■ Designed for continuous separation and
cleaning.
■ Ideal for highflow, heavy contamination applications.
■ Stainless steel drum and mild steel or stainless steel housings.
■ Drums can be ordered with or without housing.
■ Available with Ceramic or Rare Earth magnets.
■ Transitions for round, square, and rectangular
spouting.
